Decoupage

Decoupage is where my practice began, and it’s a technique I’ve been working with for over a decade. It involves decorating objects by carefully layering paper elements onto their surfaces, building depth through composition, sealing, and finishing until the imagery feels almost painted on. While the process follows a series of steps, it still leaves room for play—through colour, placement, and how the surface gradually comes together.

Returning to decoupage feels familiar and grounding. It allows me to draw on years of experience while continuing to explore new ways of working, letting each piece balance intention with experimentation.
