There are moments when nothing around us changes, yet everything within us does.

There's Something There is inspired by the quiet turning point in Beauty and the Beast when Belle begins to realise that there may be more to the Beast than first meets the eye. To me, this isn't the moment she falls in love. That comes later. This is the moment she becomes curious enough to look again.

Understanding rarely arrives all at once. It asks us to pause, to question our assumptions, and to look beyond what is immediately visible. The bridge in this painting becomes a symbol of that journey—from judgement to understanding, from certainty to curiosity.

Perhaps there is always something more waiting to be discovered. The question is, do we have the courage to truly look?

Why is it Special?

Built using a combination of acrylic painting techniques and my signature 3D Acrylic Textures technique, the snow-covered landscape is created through carefully layered paint, giving the work a physical depth that mirrors its emotional one.

Just as fresh snow conceals the landscape beneath it, the textured surface encourages us to look beyond first impressions. In many ways, the painting asks us to experience it in the same way Belle experiences the Beast—not by accepting the first impression, but by choosing to look a little closer.
